Birthday Matcher is focused on enabling online adults, 18 and over to find and connect with anyone around the world who share one basic common bond, the fact that they were born on the same day, month and year. Birthday Matcher has developed unique cutting edge web tools which deliver an easy to use, friendly and secure interactive environment for user’s to find and establish global friendships. Our stated goal is to bring the age old concept of pen pals into the 21st Century.

About Birthday Matcher and the Information We Collect
Profile Information submitted by Users to Birthday Matcher
Birthday Matcher is an online social networking community that connects people to other people forming a network for communicating, sharing and making new friends. To accomplish this, each Birthday Matcher User creates his or her own profile, which contains the personal information that the User chooses to include. This personal information includes such things as:
- First name or first and last names of the User (depending on the options selected by the User),
- Gender, age, martial status and other, similar personal information,
- Occupation,
- Schools attended or companies with whom the User is associated,
- Location (e.g., city and state), and
- Photos, videos or other shared content uploaded by the User to his or her profile, to the extent that it includes personal information.
Other Information submitted by User to Birthday Matcher
Birthday Matcher also collects User-submitted account information such as name and email address to identify User’s, send notifications related to the use of the Birthday Matcher service and conduct market research and marketing for Birthday Matchers internal use only. You should also be aware that User’s may reveal other personal information while communicating on other areas of the Birthday Matcher website(s), e.g., while participating in discussions on Birthday Matcher Groups and/or posting information on Birthday Matcher Blogs.
Finally, we also collect some information from User’s to the Birthday Matcher website(s), that is not personally identifiable, such as browser type and IP address. This information is gathered from all User’s to the website.
Use of Information Obtained by Birthday Matcher
Sharing by User’s of Profile Information
The personal information of a User contained in his or her profile will be shown to those people whom the User chooses. Each User has three options when choosing the level of sharing of his or her profile. They are:
- “Friends and Family” which consists only of that User’s friends and family,
- “Friends of Friends” which consists of that User’s friends, as well as the extended group of people who are friends of that User’s friends, and
- “Community” which is all other User’s of the Birthday Matcher website(s).
Please note that, regardless of what personal information a User chooses to include in his or her profile, or what level of sharing he or she chooses, certain information about each User will be included in that Users public profile, which is an abbreviated version of a Birthday Matcher profile. Display of Users’ Information
A Users email address and full name will only be used in the following circumstances:
- When the User invites a friend via email to become a Birthday Matcher Member,
When we send notifications to the User relating to his or her use of the Birthday Matcher service or Birthday Matcher website(s), and If the User so chooses, when we send regular notifications, weekly updates, or other news regarding the Birthday Matcher service or the Birthday Matcher website(s). Except when inviting or adding friends or as otherwise expressly set forth herein, a Member’s email address will never be shared with or displayed to any other person. User and their friends, and other User’s within their personal networks (depending on the level of sharing a User has chosen) communicate on Birthday Matcher with each other through the Birthday Matcher service, without disclosing email addresses.
Birthday Matchers Use of Users’ Information
We use information relating to each User’s server information, IP address, and browser-type.
Sharing of the Information this Site Gathers/Tracks
Except as explained herein, or where you are expressly informed otherwise, we do not sell, rent, share, trade or give away any of your personal information unless required by law or for the protection of your User rights. However, Birthday Matcher may share profile information and aggregate usage information in a non-personally identifiable manner with advertisers and other third parties in order to present to User‘s of the Birthday Matcher website(s) more targeted advertising, products and services; provided that, in such situations, we will never disclose information that would personally identify you. As set forth above, Birthday Matcher may (i) use your email address to conduct market research for Birthday Matcher internal use only; and/or (ii) use your email address to market Birthday Matcher to you (e.g., new features and applications, announcements, opportunities of interest). This privacy policy applies solely to information collected by Birthday Matcher through the Birthday Matcher website(s).

Also you can always change the the personal information you have submitted to the Birthday Matcher Website(s), including the information included in your Birthday Matcher Profile, by clicking the “Edit Profile” link on your Birthday Matcher Profile Page.
Changes in Our Privacy Policy
If we change our privacy policy, we will post those changes on our web site so Users of the Birthday Matcher website(s) are always aware of what information we collect, how we use it, and under what circumstances, if any, we disclose it. If we are going to use Users’ personally identifiable information in a manner different from that stated at the time of collection, we will notify those Users via email.
Invite a Friend
If a User elects to use our “Invite” feature to invite a friend to become a User of the Birthday Matcher service, we ask them for that friend’s email address. Birthday Matcher will automatically send the friend an email inviting them to join the site. Birthday Matcher stores this email address for the purpose of: (i) automatically adding the respondent to the “friends list” of the User sending the invitation; (ii) sending reminders of the invitation and (iii) sending emails on recent updates by the User on Birthday Matcher to the User’s invited friend. Birthday Matcher will never sell these email addresses or use them to send any other communication besides invitations and invitation reminders. Any person who receives an invitation may contact Birthday Matcher to request the removal of this information from our database.
Security
The Birthday Matcher account of every User is password-protected. Birthday Matcher takes every precaution to protect the information of the User’s, as well as information collected from other users of the Birthday Matcher. We use industry standard measures to protect all information that is stored on our servers and within our database. We limit the access to this information to those employees who need access to perform their job function such as our customer service personnel. Email Choice/Opt-out
User’s who no longer wish to receive our weekly email updates or other email notifications may opt-out of receiving these communications by following the instructions contained in the applicable email or by logging-in and changing their settings in the “Account Settings” section of the Birthday Matcher website(s). Third Party Advertising
The ads appearing on this Web site are delivered to User‘s by our Web advertising partners. Our Web advertising partners may use cookies.
